Clare McEwen fell in love with football as a girl in the 1980s. She spent countless hours with a ball at her feet but wasn’t allowed to play in a team (although she did briefly try to start her own!).

Now she wants to make damn sure girls feel a part of football. Not just on the pitch but part of the wider culture.

Clare has authored a book on the history of women's football (She Can Kick It), writes for The Women's Football Magazine, and coaches her son's football team.
